Slush, snow hindering lake access for anglers

By George Langley

We are stuck in a rut — pun intended. Slushy conditions have prevailed on most area lakes and below-normal temperatures have prolonged this period of limited mobility for ice anglers.

Most anglers are using snowmobiles to get out on the ice at this time, as there are reports of trucks getting stuck in the slush and snow on some bodies of water.

Anglers are reporting some improvements out there, however, as some of the slush and water is finally disappearing. Hopefully, the forecast holds for warmer weather later this week so those shack-happy anglers can get out
