|Plum Lake elects new chairperson, four other incumbents keep seats|

Voters in the town of Plum Lake will see a new face for town board chairperson, while four other incumbent chairs will keep their seats, according to election results from Vilas County.
Dianne Briggs defeated Will Maines 151 to 115 in the Plum Lake chairperson race. Incumbent chairman Jerry Keller did not seek re-election.
Also in Plum Lake, incumbent Sharon Brooker defeated Jo Daniel 214 to 53 in the clerk-treasurer race.
Voters in St. Germain chose to keep their current chairman,
as Walt Camp earned 390 votes to challenger John Vojta’s 342.
Meanwhile, Alan Albee and Tom Christensen won the two supervisor posts in St. Germain. Albee beat David Mollen 364 to 319, and Christensen defeated Fred Radtke 381 to 352.
In the town’s election for clerk, incumbent Thomas Martens garnered 426 votes to keep his position. Challenger Ed Siergiej earned 311 votes.
St. Germain will have a new constable, as John Eron defeated write-in candidate Wayne Newby 456 votes to 101.
In Phelps, incumbent chairman Colin Snook earned 298 votes to keep his post, while challenger Cynthia Spurgeon had 213.
The town’s incumbent supervisor, Donna Brand, lost her position as challenger Wally Beversdorf and incumbent Steve Waier garnered the most votes. Waier had the most with 284, followed by Beversdorf with 281 and Brand with 243.
Conover voters re-elected incumbent Chairman Steve Rhode, who earned 126 votes to challenger Edward Champeny’s 82.
In Land O’ Lakes, incumbent chairman Daniel Balog will keep his seat. He defeated challenger Jon Samp 101 votes to 49.
Voters in the town of Lincoln elected challenger Scott Nordstrom for a supervisor position, as he beat incumbent Jim Croker 209 votes to 138.
The town of Lincoln also held a referendum asking voters if the combined position of town clerk/treasurer should be appointed by the town board rather than chosen by the electorate. The referendum was voted down 232 to 122.
In the town of Cloverland, Julie Priefer won the newly combined clerk/treasurer seat with 137 votes. Challenger Gregory Maines garnered 53 votes.
