Sees problems on Wall St. PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

You’ve probably noticed, as you enter Eagle River from the east on Wall Street. and your tires hit the recessed manhole covers, a “thump, thump.”

When the road was being paved, the paving contractor should have installed paving rings to bring the manhole covers to the desired one-quarter-inch to one-half-inch of the paved road surface. In fact, Eagle River could still fix the problem. Just call a paving contractor.

While we’re on the subject of Wall Street, let’s talk about the intersection of Wall Street and Silver Lake Road. When was the last time a traffic count was taken on this intersection? I’m sure the count would indicate that Wall Street should not have stop signs.

Removing the signs would allow a better traffic flow on Eagle River’s main street.

Amen on the 4-way stop sign Dennis.

Perhaps this is a bad suggestion as WISDOT may come in and recommend a roundabout. That would be even worse.
