Mrs. Peterson was born May 5, 1938, in Rockford, Ill., the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Temple) Ferrigan.
She married William Peterson July 28, 1956, and they moved to Sugar Camp in 1994.Mrs. Peterson moved to Kirkland, Ill., in 1967, where she worked assembling circuit boards and maintained electrical systems in machinery for various manufacturers in Rockford.
Her hobbies included making jewelry and finding, collecting and polishing rocks. She was a longtime member and former president of the Lakeland Gem Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her son-in-law, Larry Baars.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Rush) DePoutee of Rockford, Natalie Madeen of Kingston, Ill., and Laura of Sugar Camp; one son, Dennis (Lynn) of Kingston; three sisters, Jan, Anne and Patricia; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A lunch in her honor will be held at noon Sunday, April 28, at the Sugar Camp Town Hall in Sugar Camp.
