A big crowd turned out for the eighth annual Three Lakes Shootout/Radar Run and Fly-in on Big Stone Lake Saturday.

Maulson elected Vilas supervisor

Thomas Maulson of Lac du Flambeau was elected June 23 to fill the  vacancy for District 8 supervisor as Racquel Zortman-Bell resigned her seat on the Vilas County Board.
The eighth annual Three Lakes Shootout/Radar Run and Fly-in was held Saturday on Big Stone Lake, with several thousand people attending the fundraiser for the Three Lakes Fire Department. Some of the scenes from the event included: A big crowd gathered on the shore of Big Stone Lake to watch high-powered boats.
A boater headed to the starting line to test the speed of his boat on the radar run course.
A snowmobiler displayed his on-water skills at the Shootout.

Lazy Daze of Summer set Thursday, July 9

The St. Germain Chamber of Commerce announced that the Lazy Daze of Summer Festival will take place Thursday July 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the St. Germain Community Park.
