Charlotte E. Moussette, age 93, of Cornell, Wis., passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Cornell Area Care Center.

Charlotte was born June 19, 1919, the only child of Mildred (Kern) and J. Edward Erickson.

She lived on a 40-acre farm in Gilman, Wis., until graduation from high school, at which time she moved to Cornell, Wis., for employment. While there, Charlotte met and married Ambrose Moussette on Oct. 15, 1942, after which they resided in Stanley, Chippewa Falls and again in Cornell.

Charlotte worked for the city of Cornell as Deputy City Clerk for 18 years. Upon retirement, she and Ambrose enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling and finally spending the winters in Winterhaven, Fla., where she continued to spend time after her husband’s death, returning to Cornell for the summer months. Charlotte also worked part time at the Cornell Visitor’s Center.

She moved to the Cornell Area Care Center in December 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Bonn) Wisner of Three Lakes, and Carole Moussette of Cornell; one son, William (Connie) Moussette of La Crosse; one daughter-in-law, Catherine Moussette of Cornell.

She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Bruce Gensler, Michele (James) Brown, Karmin (Robert) Thibedeau, Jeffrey Moussette, Lisa (Chad) Waldenberger, Stacie (Troy) Atherton and Stephanie (Brett) Eckstein; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ambrose; son, Lawrence Moussette; grandson, Brent Gen­sler; and a great-great-grandson, Gage Thibedeau.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held April 17, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell with Fr. Peter Manickam officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huron, Wis.
