Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 416 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 12 vehicle accidents, one abandoned vehicle, two batteries, two reports of disorderly conduct, four fires, one report of found property, one instance of fraud, two harassment complaints, one report of lost property, one report of trespassing, one weapons of­fense, six requests for an ambulance, six animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, two at­tempts to locate, 16 burglar alarms, five requests for citizen assistance, four reports of criminal damage to property, eight re­ports of hazardous conditions, eight juvenile problems/runaways, six disturbances, four reports of suspicious circumstances, nine thefts, 17 traffic violations, six welfare checks, 15 911 hang-ups, two drug problems and three ATV?problems.

At least 26 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 27 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least nine people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for possession of synthetic THC, one for probation violation, two for probation revocation, three for battery and two for operating while intoxicated.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 76 to 80. As of May 19, there were 80 inmates.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 18 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded two 911 hang-ups, two vehicle accidents, one hit-and-run, one request for an ambulance, one request for citizen assistance, two instances of criminal damage to property, one instance of found property, one harassment complaint, one report of a bad check, one juvenile problem, one report of operating while intoxicated, one vacation check, one utility problem and two welfare checks.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported one 911 hang-up, one vehicle accident, two hit-and-runs, two ATV/dirt bike?violations, one disturbance, one gas drive-off, nine hazards, one welfare check, 29 house checks, four informational reports, one instance of littering, one mental commitment, one parking violation, two instances of found property, three reports of reckless driving, two suspicious circumstances, three thefts, 10 traffic stops, one trespassing complaint and three instances of vandalism.
