Daniel Rutkowski, age 85, of Eagle River, Wis., and formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., died May 13, 2013.
He was born March 21, 1928, in Milwaukee, to his parents, Casimir and Monica Rutkowski.
He retired from Allis-Chalmers after 32 years of service.He moved to Eagle River in 1979.
He became active in the Kalmar Center of Eagle River, and was a member of VFW of Eagle River.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Monica; and grandson, Rob.
He is survived by his wife of 62 year, Doris Rutkowski; daughter, Jeralyn Lorenz of Montclair, Va.; sons, John Rutkowski of Eagle River, Jim Rutkowski of Eagle River and Daryl Rutkowski of Eagle River; sisters, Colette Switalski of Henderson, Nev., and Rita Heksel of Greenfield, Wis.; grandchildren, Tony, Dan, Sara, Zachary and Meaghan; great-grandchildren, Sam, Will, Nora and Lucy.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
A memorial will be established in Dan’s name.
