Pines track holds awards banquet

Northland Pines High School held its track awards banquet last week after capping off its regular season with 52 wins and eight losses.

Team captain Johnny Schwenn was named the Eagles’ Most Valuable Player. He holds five indoor school records, one outdoor record and two conference records. He’s been to the State meet the last three years.

“Johnny showed amazing leadership the entire season,”?said coach John Hayes. “He led by example in the offseason, doing a weekly 400 workout before track even started.”

Schwenn earned first-team all-conference in the 55-meter dash, the 400-meter dash indoor and 400-meter dash outdoor.
