JUST A FEW decades ago, a new product cycle might have been 5 to 10 years. Today, many new consumer products are lucky to have a one-year life span.

If you are in the technology field, your business better be reinventing itself every six months, otherwise you will be deemed obsolete in the marketplace and you will be cast on the scrap heap of one-hit wonders.

If you find yourself in an industry that the world couldn’t do without in the late 20th century, you better beware because 21st century technology is being developed right now that will make your job irrelevant.
