H. ‘David’ Dittmar PDF Print E-mail

H. “David” Dittmar went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2013, at the age of 77.

He was the only child of Henry and Leona Dittmar. He was born on Oct. 24, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis. Beloved husband of Beverly Ann Dittmar, they were united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1956.

They had five children, Susan Kay (Rodney) Wylie, Scott Eugene who preceded him in death, Mark Matthew (Nina) Dittmar, Lori Ann LaRocque, and Sandra Jean (Jason) Voigt. David is further survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He owned Westcourt Service in Milwaukee, and then began his career at Northwestern Elevator and retired after 35 years of service. He raised his family in Wausau, Wis.

David was an avid sportsman; he also shared in the family’s passion of snowmobiling, and taught snowmobile safety classes for many years.

David enjoyed the company of family and friends; he was always the first with a joke to bring a small joy to others.

Bev and Dave retired at their family cabin that they built together in Sugar Camp. David courageously fought a short battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Eagle River Hospice.

A memorial service was held Friday, July 5, at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation was held for one hour before the service.
