Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 437 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least 22 vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, eight animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, seven burglar alarms, six burglary, 16 requests for citizen assistance, three batteries, one report of disorderly conduct, one domestic violence complaint, 16 fireworks complaints, three instances of found property, one case of fraud, one harassment complaint, two hit-and-runs, one lost person, five reports of lost property, one threat, two weapons offenses, four re­ports of hazardous conditions, seven juvenile problems/runaways, six disturbances, 13 reports of suspicious circumstances, six thefts, 14 traffic violations, one threat, one vacation check, four welfare checks, 30 911 hang-ups, five reports of operating while intoxicated, five drug problems and one ATV accident.

At least 24 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 18 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for theft and one for obstructing justice.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 71 to 80. As of July 8, there were 80 inmates.

 

Wednesday, July 3

- 10:20 p.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Airport Road near Bayview Drive in Arbor Vitae involving Steven R. Turner of Arbor Vitae.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 24 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded one animal problem, two vehicle accidents, one burglar alarm, two requests for citizen assistance, one disturbance, one fireworks complaint, two instances of found property, one hazard, two suspicious circumstances, two thefts, four traffic violations, one instance of trespassing, one vacation check and two 911 hang-ups.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported four 911 hang-ups, one 911 misuse, three vehicle accidents, three alarms, one request for an ambulance, three animal problems, five requests for agency assistance, nine ATV/dirt bike violations, one barking dog, 21 boating violations, two death investigations, one disturbance, three requests for an extra patrol, one fire, five fireworks complaints, one instance of fraud, one gas drive-off, six hazards, 12 house checks, six informational reports, one noise complaint, one instance of operating while intoxicated, one paper service, three parking violations, one instance of found property, one instance of reckless driving, three services, six suspicious circumstances, 15 traffic stops and one vehicle in a ditch.
