Businesses see robust week during Fourth

Holiday, nice weather
help draw big crowds

The combination of an extended holiday weekend for many and great summer weather brought the biggest Fourth of July crowds in years to the North Woods, according to businesses surveyed Monday.

With Independence Day on a Thursday, many visiting tourists were able to take Friday off from their jobs, resulting in a four-day holiday break.

In addition, a week of near-perfect July weather with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s and 80s helped ignite what is likely the busiest week of the summer
