|James ‘Jim’ Hyatt|
James “Jim” Hyatt, a resident of Eagle River and formerly of Walnut, Ill., and Rockford, Ill., died Aug. 11, 2013, at the Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. He was 87.
Mr. Hyatt was born July 11, 1926, in Bloomington, Ill., to James and Martha (née Trent) Hyatt. He was the youngest of six children.
He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, Texas, during World War II from 1945 to 1946 and was honorably discharged.
He met his wife of 63 years, Ruth Yerk,
following his discharge and married her Sept. 22, 1946. They had three daughters.
Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; son-in-law, Mike Schock; and five sisters.
Survivors include his daughters, Sherrie (Curt) Lee of Panama City, Fla., Vicky Schock and Connie (Scott) Lewis, both of Eagle River; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Friday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Conover Evangelical Free Church.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
