|Disappointed in theft of satellite dish from yard|
Letter to the Editor:
We all shake our heads at the world today and wonder why. Here’s another example of why.My neighbor in St. Germain held a garage sale on Friday and Saturday this week and one of the visitors to their yard, decided that an item laying on the ground in my yard was something they needed. It was a television satellite dish. Not an expensive or unusual item, but it didn’t belong to him.
Another of my neighbors witnessed him stopping his van, as he drove away from the garage sale and loading the dish in his van. Sorry to say, he wasn’t close enough to get a plate number or description of the individual. The dish was 35 feet from the road and behind a tree, so I don’t think it could be assumed to be garbage, left out for trash hauling.
To the individual who did this, since you took my property, why didn’t you think the bicycle leaning against the deck was fair game? Or the grill on the deck? Where do you draw the line at theft?
People like you are the reason we have so little civility in our society today. Show some respect for your fellow citizens and their rights to privacy and possessions.
