Is peace group allied with pro-choice circle? PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

In your Aug. 21 issue there is an article, as well as an advertisement, describing an upcoming event called Women’s (In-) Equality Day. Sponsored by the Many Ways of Peace organization in Eagle River, the event title is a play on words.

Congress established Women’s Equality Day to observe the success of women gaining the right to vote. The guest speaker would be state Rep. Janet Bewley of Ashland. So far so good. Who wouldn’t be in favor of peace and equality? And where is the inequality?

Well, it turns out that there is inequality because women don’t have unlimited access to abortion and free birth control. This is right out of the Democratic party playbook. Rep. Bewley is a Democrat, and she feels that equality for women remains elusive because so-called reproductive rights are limited.

Why is a peace organization associating itself with a pro-choice Democrat?

Thousands of babies are killed daily in our country through abortion. This is war on the unborn. I use the term baby, but the liberal mainstream media calls the unborn either an embryo or a fetus. Except when they are dealing with a celebrity. Over the past several months we heard the media discussing the royal baby! The offspring of William and Kate was given that title in utero.

When did that baby become a person? At the moment of conception. At that very instant he possessed all the DNA from his parents that established so many aspects of his future life.

The same thing is true of all of us. Our identities were launched at conception, and God knew each of us then (Psalm 139).

We expect peace organizations to advocate for peace and to resist war. How ironic that Many Ways of Peace links up with someone who is OK with the killing of babies.

When I graduated from medical school, our whole class recited the Hippocratic Oath together. This had its origin in 400 B.C. Among other statements is the pledge not to perform abortions. Shame on doctors who disregard that ethical standard today.

We cheapen life when we say it is OK to slay the innocents. We distort the thinking of our youth by implying that morality is relative.

This past week, three teenagers shot and killed a young man because they were bored! Our nation is in moral decline. Thus we have lost our way. We are in a financial mess, many communities are unsafe, and we are in many ways an addicted society. No, we are a sick society, desperately in need of healing.

The Bible defines health as peace, or shalom. It is not the mere absence of disease. It is wholeness. And we will not be a healthy nation until we have a spiritual reawakening by turning to the prince of peace.

Well-intentioned secular peace organizations will not solve our problems, especially if they are allied with pro-abortion groups.

Warren Anderson, M. D.

Frank, what "unknown factor"? We already "know" what the teaparty is, a bunch of fundementalist extremists bent on changing this country into something it was NEVER intended to be. The Teaparty may say they are for some of those things but words are hollow compared to actions and their actions have proven otherwise. It's of no surprise that you align yourself with them. You've called me a race/gay baiter in just about every post. GOOD! I have o problems continuing to put the Teaparty's bigotry and homophobia front and center for all to see. Your side owns this poor behavior so feel free to fully embrace it. As for your poor behavior, I've already post many of your quotes for all to see. Here's but one of the many....."But make no mistake about it, besides the typical banter between Jeff and myself which consists of him calling me delusional, racist or what amounts to a liar when he said I make things up - while I prefer anti-American, morally bankrupt or Marxist for him".

Checkmate, you lose

In post 117, I stated: “I see your illogical argument is reduced to equating your own bad apple behavior to the same indiscretions of some similar bad apples in the Tea Party movement as if their behavior exonerates and validates yours. Well it doesn't and of course it can't”

In response in 118, you stated: “You(r) attempt of calling my behavior bad is merely a projection of your own.”

In response in post 125, I stated: “So since you actually have the chutzpah to cavalierly equate your documented bigoted behavior of the race and gay-baiting that you proudly told the world you stand behind – to my behavior, I’m holding you to prove your defamation by illustrating like acts of bigotry that I’ve committed. Knock yourself out.”

And of course you can’t so instead you “knocked yourself out” - with SILENCE.

Better luck next time.

You can Alinsky the Tea Party as much as your heart desires but it won’t change the fact that you, Obama and every other anti-American socialist is quaking in their boots again over this unknown factor.

There is no other logical explanation for the Left’s attack – absolutely none and you know that I know it.

And about me aligning with the Tea Party and their mission statement of limited government, self-reliance, personal responsibility and equal opportunity for all would make George Washington proud as compared to someone like yourself who fanatically defends an anti-American labor union in the NEA which recommends the supposed literary works of a looney-tune fellow-traveler like Alinsky, who doesn’t believe in “dogma” except for the “dogma” according to Saul!

And then of course we have NEA’s indoctrination and brainwashing with that celebration of Mao that you dismiss as “diversity.”

Frank, I'm afraid of ANY group that attempts to change this country into some type of "Fundementalist, Fringe" country. The "Amerrican Taliban" is losing members and I'm not as worried about them as I used to be however. I know that they are shooting themselves in the foot and I'm just sitting back and watching. The last election cycle was not a good one for the teaparty members as they lost quite handily across this country and if the govt shuts down the electorate will blame Republicans which may even lead to the House switching back to Dem control again. Stay tuned!

You're outright fear, along with Obama and every other anti-American socialist on the Left, is exciting and very telling. Common sense dictates that your kind would not be Alinskying the Tea Party if they were as Insignificant as you want everyone to believe.

The mere fact that you guys are so afraid of the "registered" 8% is proof enough that you know there are millions unaccounted for that hold Obama's "transformation" in their hands!

Frank, your dishonestly continues to amaze not only myself but others. You keep stepping into your own mess. You say you are not a "card carrying member of the teaparty" yet you say you "align yourself" with them. So would that make you a "sympathizer" or an "elbow rubber" with them? Fact is the teaparty has been exposed for what they truly are, a fringe group with radical behavior that attempts to wrap the bigotry in a flag. Some of the most radical groups across this globe have done the same. There's a reason why their movement is dying and only 8% now say they are members. It's a toxic movement Frank and you "align yourself" with them. Here's the thing Frank, THEY did this to themselves, nobody else. Their poor behavior has been front and center for all to see. You can sit there and attempt to say Alinsky is a threat even though churches adopted his ideas and the NEA is a threat because they teach diversity but we all know who's a bigger threat to this country, the TP

Well in that case John, we now have something in common, as in, "Pot meet Kettle."

Based on your definition of "American Taliban" and the fact that the Democrat Party is comprised nowadays of predominantly "fundamentalists in nature" who exhibit "extreme behavior" - that would make both of us members of the "American Taliban" - just different sects.

And even though your definition doesn't apply to me when compared to your documented behavior in this forum, it was well worth playing along just to illustrate how easy it is working with unabashed hypocrites.

A couple of things from yesterday that I didn’t have time for, centers around your usual uncontrollable obsession to distort, mischaracterize , fabricate and defame. And, one or more of the above is occurring in virtually every one of your posts in such a methodical manner that you’re making a mockery of this forum and its guests.

Yesterday you stated: “You attempt of calling my behavior bad is merely a projection of your own.”

So since you actually have the chutzpah to cavalierly equate your documented bigoted behavior of the race and gay-baiting that you proudly told the world you stand behind – to my behavior, I’m holding you to prove your defamation by illustrating like acts of bigotry that I’ve committed. Knock yourself out.

You then stated: “As for Alinsky, I had no doubt you would attempt to take quotes from him out of context.”

“This is standard Right wing 101 tactics. His point was he doesn't believe in Dogma or ideology and I suggest anyone actually read the full portion to know what he is saying.”

Since you couldn’t possibly be referring to the “Playboy” interview from a few days ago where Alinsk(y) validates my charge of “fellow traveler” with his irrefutable verbatim quotes, you must be referring to post 114 and his personal acknowledgement to Lucifer in “Rules for Radicals.”

Posting that acknowledgement to Lucifer had nothing to do on my end with Alinsky’s politics, but rather, to illustrate the complete absence of morality in someone who would personally acknowledge evil in such a celebratory way – the dogma of immorality.

And astonishingly, this radical who celebrates evil, is who the NEA recommended their teachers become acquainted with. The reason is more than obvious if one understands the dynamics of infiltration and brainwashing.

Understanding Saul Alinsky – The NEA’s Recommended Choice for Teacher

Saul of the Day: Alinsky’s roots in Orthodox Marxism – “Rules for Radicals”:

“The revolutionary force today has two targets, moral as well as material. Its young protagonists are one moment reminiscent of the idealistic early Christians, yet they also urge violence and cry, "Burn the system down!" They have no illusions about the system, but plenty of illusions about the way to change our world. It is to this point that I have written this book. These words are written in desperation, partly because it is what they do and will do that will give meaning to what I and the radicals of my generation have done with our lives.”
