|Proposal to search for new tower site returned to Vilas County committee|

After raising questions on the need for the county to build its own communication tower in Land O’ Lakes, Vilas County Board supervisors sent a proposed contract for professional services costing $34,375 to look for other tower sites back to the Communications Committee at the board meeting last week.
Supervisor Gary Peske said there are issues with the present use of the WERL/WRJO tower, including an easement across private property for a telephone line. He also was concerned about rent costs when the present lease ends next year.“Rent will escalate and we’re paying $800 a
