|City, library heads won’t seek grant for building project|

Application for a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to aid in the construction of a new library in Eagle River will not happen after a special meeting of the Eagle River City Council with representatives of the Olson Memorial Library Foundation and Library Board of Trustees last week.
City Administrator Joe Laux said the Department of Administration is now handling the grant program and wants municipalities to come up with a share of the funds.“They’re saying municipalities have to have a 10% share in the project from municipal funds,”
