James “Jim” Turner, a long-time area resident, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at his home. He was 55.

Mr. Turner was born Sept. 26, 1958, in Morrison, Ill., to James and Elsie Turner.

He retired from Northland Pines School District Maintenance Department.

His interests included fishing, hunting, softball and golf.

Survivors include his mother, Elsie of Sayner; two daughters, Jennifer of L’Anse, Mich., and Samantha of Eagle River; three sisters, Kimberly Russell of New Richmond, Stacey (Bob) Sommers of St. Germain, and Rebecca (Randy) Nocerini of Windsor, Colo.; and one grandchild.
