Rumors of a holiday deer hunt in the North Woods and changes in how hunting zones are geographically defined were discussed at a public hearing in Eagle River last week on proposed rule recommendations for deer hunting.
Department of Natural Resources (DNR) conservation warden David Walz and wildlife biologist Michele Woodford presented the Deer Trustee Report and what proposed rule changes mean for deer hunters in Wisconsin.
This was the first of 35 hearings throughout the state which were designed to inform the public about proposed rule changes and gather input from those present.One issue that emerged at the Eagle River meeting was a discussion on a
