|Town of Lincoln shuts off lamps on Hwy. 45|

The town of Lincoln has shut off 47 streetlights on Highway 45 north of Eagle River between Airport Road and McKinley Boulevard in an effort to cut costs.
Only six lights on the east side of the highway from Pleasure Island Road north past the Derby Track and four lights at the Highway G?intersection remain illuminated after dusk.
A town official said the lights cost the town approximately $10,000 annually to electrify, and that a decline in state revenue sharing in recent years is partially to blame for the board’s decision to shut them off.Other factors include a state-mandated cap of
