Open water fishing winding down in North
By George Langley

With temperatures dropping into the teens this week, this is just about it for the open water fishing for this year. This week’s cold weather will certainly start closing up some of the lakes to open water fishing.

In the absence of a warm front (and we can’t take anything for granted when it comes to the weather) there could be some ice fishing by deer season. Deer season is late this year, starting Nov. 23. We might find some guys deer hunting during the daytime and ice fishing for early walleye at night.

Water temperatures are now down in the low 40s and even in the 30s
