Donations help provide clothes PDF Print E-mail

Donations to Warm The Children, a program to provide winter clothing to qualified families and sponsored by the Vilas County News-Review, have been steadily coming in and now reached approximately 37% of its fundraising goal of $55,000, according to News-Review Publisher Kurt Krueger.

“To date we have been able to send approximately 440 children shopping,” commented program coordinator Sharina Adams. “Applications are still coming in, and we anticipate at least an additional 110 children will be served.

“Those of us who live in the North Woods know that the recent spell of mild weather is not the norm for this time of year,” Adams continued. “Children will need warm winter clothing soon.

“Every cent received goes to purchase warm winter clothing for area children. The News-Review picks up all administrative fees and every donation, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated,” she said.

For more information about the program or to become a volunteer shopper, contact Adams at (715) 479-4421. Donations may be dropped off at the News-Review office at 425 W. Mill St., mailed to P.O. Box 1929, Eagle River, WI 54521, or made online at
