|Five of six wolf zones closed|

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has closed five of the six wolf harvest zones to hunting and trapping of gray wolves effective Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m.
As of Monday, Nov. 18, hunters and trappers have harvested 210 wolves in the states. The statewide quota is 251 wolves.
The only zone that remains open is Zone 3 with a quota of 71 wolves; just 28 have been harvested. Zone 3 is a narrow band of counties in northwest Wisconsin stretching from Taylor County to Burnett County.Zone 2 in northeast Wisconsin includes most of Vilas, Oneida, Forest,
