Dorothy E. Drews, age 86, of St. Germain, WI, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013.

She was born May 23, 1927, to Herb Holmquist and Margaret Witterholt in West Allis, WI. After graduating from Nathan Hale High School, she went to work at Allis-Chalmers where she met and married Ray Hintz. There they raised Ray’s two boys, Russ and Jack, then had two girls, Lin and Susie.

They moved to St. Germain from Milwaukee in 1968 where they purchased a hotel. After selling the hotel, Dorothy went to work for Camps Red Owl for 20 years where she was affectionately known as either Mama or “Fee” by the kids in town.

Ray and Dorothy were married 31 years before divorcing. Dorothy then met Cliff Drews and married in 1983. Cliff preceded her in death in 1998. Soon after she moved into the Sunrise Senior housing where she lived out her final years.

Dorothy loved to snowmobile and was a charter member of the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club and the Apple Dumpling Gang, and also belonged to the Shipmates. For years she handled all the deeds for the cemetery plots for the St. Germain cemetery.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff Drews; her brother, Herb Holmquist; and her brother-in-law, Vern Kirch­ner.

She is survived and will be missed by her two daughers, Lin Goodenough (John Bauman) of Tomah and Sue Crall, of Arbor Vitae; stepson Jeff (Peggy) Drews; sister Shirley Kirchner of West Allis; and sister-in-law Catherine Holm­quist of West Allis; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews;

Grandchildren Timmy Crall of Arbor Vitae, Dawn Rezin, Jennifer (Wendell) Latin, Samantha Goodenough, Amanda (Bill) Bungert, all of Tomah; Cathy (Troy) Lambert of Warrens; and Jolene (Christian) McArthur of Wilmer, MN. Stepgrandson Jason (Karen) Drews; great-grandchildren Colie, Hannah, Whitney, Jordyn, Kalie, Leah, Ja’Qari, Lydia, Brooklyn, Cody and Hayden; and great-great-granddaughter Jaelyn.

She will be especially missed by her beloved dach­shund, Maggie.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Community United Church of Christ in St. Germain, WI. Visitation was held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church.
