She was born on June 23, 1932, in Eagle River, Wis., the daughter of the late Everett and Selma (Fett) Dotson. She resided in Eagle River until 1958, when she went to Kenosha to make her home.
On Aug. 23, 1958, in Eagle River, she married James Price.Vanita enjoyed bowling, singing, dancing, walking and most of all, spending time with her family.
Vanita is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; five children, William Price of Healy, Alaska, Daniel Price of Blue Springs, Mo., David Price of Bemidji, Minn., Robert (Pam) Price of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Jenny (Brian) Perrault of Collierville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Josh, Sarah, Anna, Matthew, Jacob, Brianna, Jordan and Logan; and one great-grandchild, Kiylah.
Also survived by two sisters, Marcia (Dave) Koss of Minnesota, and Katie Capich of Arizona; one cousin, Jan (Bob) Benson of Addison, Ill.; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Stan Bittenbender; three brothers, Russell (Kikue), Wally and Ken; and a cousin, Bobby Fett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Clare Bridge Senior Living Center and Seasons Hospice.
Funeral services were held March 21 at Proko Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately in the spring at Eagle River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
