I’m proud to be called a square

SQUARE! IT’S another of those good old words that have gone the way of love, modesty and patriotism. It’s something to be snickered over, or outright laughed at, why?

Some of our readers will remember a certain time. It used to be that there was no higher compliment you could pay a man than to call him a “straight-shooter.”

Charles Brower remembers those days and he wrote this essay some 30 years ago in an issue of Masonic Tribune.
