Marlowe Parklin Burgy

Marlowe Parklin Bur­gy, age 94, died June 1, 2014, at Eagle River, Wis., following a short illness.

Marlowe was born on Nov. 29, 1919, at the family farmstead in Conroy, Iowa, to John and Anna (Furler) Burgy.

He was raised on the family farm and when he was only 2, his father died from injuries received when the entire family was involved in the first fatal automobile accident in Iowa County.

In order to attend high school, Marlow stayed with the family of a local jeweler,

Alice Virginia Jolly

Alice Virginia Jolly, 84, of Geneseo, Ill., passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her home.

Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to Geneseo EMT.

Sharon L. Gebhardt

Sharon L. Gebhardt, 62, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, unexpectedly passed away on June 9, 2014, after a brief illness.

She was born on March 14, 1952, in Phelps, Wis., the daughter of W. Russell and Lou (née Schaefer) Gebhardt.

Sharon graduated from Eagle River Union High School in 1970, and attended Nicolet College.

Sharon worked at various Eagle River businesses through the years, including Trees For Tomorrow, The Violet Express, and most recently, Northern Lakes Land­scaping.  Her exemplary knowledge of office management coupled with her love of gardening

Scott “Scooter” Young­quist, age 57, a 23-year resident of Woodruff, Wis., died on Sunday June 15, 2014, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff.

Scooter was born on Dec. 14, 1956, in Antigo, Wis., to Fred and Ruth Youngquist.

He was married to his wife, Sharon, on Aug. 3, 2002, in Woodruff.

Judge David Michael Hall

Judge David Michael Hall, 61, of Wau­ke­gan, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his home, surrounded by friends and family.

David was an active YMCA board member, musician in Target – the world’s greatest rock and roll band, and member of Waukegan City Club.

He had been an attorney in Waukegan since 1976, and a judge for 23 years, retiring in 2012.

Mildred E. Larson, age 96, of Phelps, Wis., passed away on June 6, 2014, at Phelps Inn Care, where she had resided for the past two and one-half years. Her family and her pastor were at her side.

She was born in Wausau, Wis., on Dec. 7, 1917, to Otto and Emma Klabunde.

Mildred was a member of the Phelps Congregational Church her entire life.

Michael J. Paremski, age 63, of Rhinelander, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1950, in Rhinelander, the son of David and Carolyn (Sen­sen­brenner) Paremski.

Mike was a 1968 graduate of Rhinelander High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin- Superior in 1972.
