Reiter Center hosted
the community event

Students, parents, administration, faculty and school board members of Three Lakes High School gathered at the Reiter Center for the 15th annual academic banquet Oct. 20.

Students were awarded academic letters or bronze, silver or gold medals according to their semester grade-point averages. The first six points earned a student a letter, then the next six points, a bronze medal, with a gold being the highest, worth 24 points.

Woman’s club holds antiques meeting

The Three Lakes Woman’s Club held its Antiques Road Show meeting, and Donna Mather of Back Country Crafts & Antiques and Sue Sorg of Lazy Susan’s evaluated and appraised items brought in by club members.

The next meeting of the Woman’s Club will be a holiday breakfast that will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the Reiter Center.

Church seeks winter gear for students

Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes will conduct a campaign in an effort to keep children warm this winter in Three Lakes and Sugar Camp schools.

The church will collect gently used or new winter gear from the end of November through December for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Items being collected include hats, scarves, gloves and mittens. Many children do not have these items or simply forget to bring them to school, according to program coordinators.

Food drive
The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) students at St. Theresa’s and St. Kunegunda’s Catholic churches recently sponsored a food drive for Three Lakes Christian Food Pantry. They collected food and cash donations during Masses Nov. 16-17. Ecumenical Xmas party slated Dec. 2

The Women’s Fellowship of Union Congregational United Church of Christ of Three Lakes will host this year’s Women’s Ecumenical Christmas Party, Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Reiter Center in Three Lakes.

Barbara Holtz will give a Christmas reading followed by a Christmas carol sing-along.

Dessert and coffee will be served. Attendees should take an item for the Three Lakes Christian Food Pantry.

Bus to transport seniors Dec. 11

Seniors 55 and older and adults with disabilities can reserve a seat on the Forest County bus traveling to Rhine­­lander via Three Lakes and Sugar Camp Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The lift-equipped bus will originate in Crandon and make stops in Argonne and Hiles before stopping in Three Lakes at approxi­mately 8:15 a.m.

The bus will stop in Sugar Camp at approximately 8:45 a.m. on its way to Rhine­lander for the day. The cost for the full day of transportation will be $3 per person.

Library fundraiser

Festival of Lights set at Cy Williams

The Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce will have three live reindeer on hand for its annual Festival of Lights Friday, Nov. 29, at Cy Williams Park.

The reindeer, along with two of Santa’s helpers will be at the park from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. for photo opportunities.

Following tradition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the gazebo at 5:30 p.m. They will be available for photos with children and to express holiday wishes.

Eighth-grade class sets Bluejay Bistro

The Three Lakes eighth-grade class will hold its Bluejay Bistro fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Sugar Camp Town Hall to raise money for its upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.

The?all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner with marinara or meat sauce with a side of garlic bread and Caesar salad will be served by the students. Coffee, juice and dessert also will be served. Soft drinks will be available for extra cost.

Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door at a cost of $8 for adults, $5 for youths 6-12 and free for those five and younger. There also will be raffles at the event.
