Three Lakes woman pleads
not guilty to 10 forgery counts

A 37-year-old Three Lakes woman pleaded not guilty after probable cause was found she had committed forgery and uttering a forgery in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Lynette L. Majewski is charged with 10 counts of forgery and 10 counts of uttering a forgery in August, September and October of 2013. All the charges are Class H felonies. She faces fines up to $10,000 on each forgery count and prison time up to six years on each uttering charge.

Man charged for delivering heroin
tied to drug-related overdose case

A 28-year-old Lac du Flambeau man has been charged with delivery of heroin in Vilas County Circuit Court last week for his connection to a possible drug-related overdose  in  Lac du Flambeau March 3.

James R. Stenberg also is   charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. He had a preliminary hearing set for March 20 at 1:30 p.m.

Vilas Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III continued Stenberg’s $10,000 cash bond  with the conditions that he have no contact with other suspects in the case.

According to the complaint, law enforcement officers responded to a call at 2:24 a.m.

Eagle River man sentenced 
to 41?2 years in prison system

A 36-year-old Eagle River man was sentenced to the Wisconsin Prison System (WPS) for four and one-half  years for possessing a firearm as a felon and choking a woman in the spring of 2013 in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Courtney J. Dale pleaded no contest and was found guilty last month of possession of a firearm by a felon and strangulation and suffocation. Charges of substantial battery, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and misdemeanor theft were dismissed in the plea agreement.

Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least nine vehicle accidents, two car versus deer accidents, four animal problems, two requests for agency assistance, six burglar alarms, nine requests for citizen assistance, four do­mes­tic violence complaints, one instance of found property, three harassment complaints, two hit-and-runs, three re­ports of hazardous conditions, three juvenile problems/runaways, four disturbances, nine reports of suspicious circumstances, three thefts, seven traffic violations, 14 welfare checks, 15 911 hang-ups, three reports of operating while intoxicated, three drug problems and one snowmobile accident.

Rosner bound over in stabbing;

Shumake reaches plea agreement

A 28-year-old Eagle River man, allegedly involved in the stabbing of a pregnant woman last month, was bound over for arraignment after Vilas County Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III found probable cause that at least two felonies had been committed.

Andrew Rosner is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional hom­i­cide by use of a dangerous weapon in connection with an alleged stabbing of Morgan Maney, 20, also of Eagle River, and her unborn child on Feb 1. Each felony count carries a maximum 60-year prison sentence.

At the preliminary hearing last Tuesday, Vilas County District Attorney Albert Moustakis questioned Vilas County Sheriff’s Department Detective Charisse Rozga-Anderson, who told the court she interviewed Maney at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield following the incident.
