Dairy Queen of Eagle River recently held its third annual Charity Treat Day in which $2 from every Blizzard Treat sold will be donated to the Northwoods Children’s Museum. Laura Schindelholz to practice dentistry in Land O’ Lakes

Laura Schindelholz, DDS will join the dental practice of her father, Peter “Painless” Schindelholz, in Land O’ Lakes Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Born and raised in Land O’ Lakes and a 2005 graduate of Northland Pines, Schindelholz is excited about returning to the area.

“I could never see myself anywhere else,” she said. “The people and the pace are what I love about this area. I am the most comfortable here.”

Nail art class slated Aug. 28

The Warehouse Four Seasons Center for the Arts in Eagle River will offer a nail art class at the Beauty Resort Thursday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The class fee will be $25. Basic supplies and light refreshments are included in the cost. More supplies will be available for purchase.

Many Ways of Peace to host Women’s Equality Day speaker

“Is Women’s Equality a Prerequisite for Human Survival?” is the topic of a Women’s Equality Day conversation with Mary Sanderson Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. at Many Ways of Peace in downtown Eagle River.

Sanderson will discuss how women’s work and common sense can create positive futures within the context of a broader discussion about how women may participate in healing the world from war and destruction.

Site review scheduled Sept. 17 for Nicolet’s nursing program

Nicolet Area Technical College announced it will host a site review for continuing accreditation of its Associate of Applied Science-Nursing Degree program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11:30 a.m. at Nicolet Area Technical College, Art Tech Building Room 206.

The public is welcome to attend to  meet the site visit team and share comments about the program.
