Elvis and Cline tribute show set

An Elvis and Patsy Cline tribute artists dinner and show to benefit the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH) Frederick Place in Rhinelander, will take place Saturday, May 17, at Whitetail Inn, located at 9038 Highway 70 W. in St. Germain.

Social will be at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7:30 p.m.

Garry Wesley, portraying Elvis, has performed through­out the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico and South America.

Byrnes retires from housing authority
Members of A&M Services attended the St. Germain Housing Committee meeting April 2 to bid farewell to retiring St. Germain Housing Authority Executive Director Francine Byrns and to meet residents of the facility. Francine Byrnes, who managed the St. Germain Housing Authority for 21 years, retired March 31. Byrnes’ duties as executive director have passed to A&M Services Property Management LLC in Crandon.

Members of A&M Services attended the St. Germain Housing Committee meeting April 2 to bid farewell to Byrns and to meet residents of the facility.

Peace Café on green cleaning products scheduled April 15 in Eagle River

Many Ways of Peace (MWP) in downtown Eagle River will hold its monthly Peace Café Tuesday, April 15, from noon to 1 p.m. This month’s topic is “Making Your Own Green Cleaning and Personal Care Products” presented by Marcy Chuckel of Eagle River.

Soup featuring local and organic ingredients, and tea and fair-trade coffee will be served at noon, followed by the program. The cost will be $6 per person. Reservations are recommended.

Benefit dinner set April 12

There will be a spaghetti benefit for Crystal Beth Lemmons at BBT’s, located at 207 E. Wall St. in downtown Eagle River, Saturday, April 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Lemmons, 24, was diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer in February 2014. She does not have health insurance. All proceeds will go to help with her doctor and hospital bills. The cost for the dinner will be $7.99.

Salad luncheon, card party set April 12 at Kalmar

Senior Eagle River Volunteer Enterprise (SERVE) will host its third annual Salad Luncheon and Card Party at the Kalmar Senior Community Center in Eagle River Saturday, April 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“If you play cards or board games, take a group or come alone. Everyone is welcome,” said a SERVE spokesperson.

A variety of salads will be served for the luncheon, with dessert and coffee to follow.
