Artarama to feature two silent auctions

Two silent auctions will be offered at the 42nd annual Artarama Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Eagle River. The event is held rain or shine.

“Artarama exhibitors generously donate their artwork to be auctioned with minimum bids starting at just one-half of the normal retail cost,” said Karen Kubacki, silent auction chairwoman.

Artarama visitors can peruse the items on the silent auction, make a bid, take in the rest of the show and return to check or increase their bid.

Two Eagle River businesses featured in diner directory

Pancake breakfast slated July 5

There will be a free pancake breakfast Saturday, July 5, from 8 to 11 a.m. at The Rock Mission Center, located at 1019 Wall St. in Eagle River, next to Trig’s grocery store.

The menu will feature  homemade pancake batter, fresh fruit, sausage, ham,  coffee and juice. Donations will be welcomed, and all proceeds will go to the center and its community outreach programs.

Feith awarded scholarship from multiple sclerosis society

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) Wisconsin Chapter has announced that Coty Feith, a senior at Northland Pines High School in Eagle River, has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship.

Feith will use the scholarship at UW-Eau Claire where she plans to study business administration.

The society’s annual scholarship program helps students affected by multiple sclerosis pursue a college or technical school education.

Meagan Neis receives competitive internship

The Wisconsin Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) System has selected Meagan Neis, a graduate of Northland Pines High School in 2010, to receive a competitive summer internship in community health.

Neis has studied Global Health and African Languages at UW-Madison, and is originally from Eagle River.
