Beehive project
Northland Pines Middle School students recently built beehives (above) in technology education class with the help of Tim Bogeman, who provided all of the materials and the students did all of the assembling. Todd Wilfer’s science class then had a contest to determine which student-made designs would be painted on the outside of the hives. There were 13 designs that the students came up with. Students tallied the votes from students at school and from the sponsors of the Adopt-a-Bee program. The two designs that received the most votes were then painted onto the hives by students in their art class. Students also have received their bee suits, ready for when the bees arrive sometime in early May. The day the bees arrive, they will then be placed into the beehives. —Contributed Photo
