Muskie tourney set in Minocqua on 6 lake groups

Northwoods Muskies Inc. Chapter 61 will hold its inaugural Northwoods Musky Open Fundraising Tournament Saturday, June 28.

A total of six lake groups surrounding the Minocqua, area have been designated for tournament waters for this family- and conservation-oriented event.

Prizes will be awarded for top three places with more than $1,000 in gift cards from The Musky Shop. A junior angler prize will be awarded for the longest muskie caught by a youth 16 years or younger.

PMMT tourney to visit Eagle Chain

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, along with Professional Musky Tournament Trail (PMTT) sponsors, will host the professional muskie tournament on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22.

The lakes are in top-notch condition, which could help this year’s event shape up to be one of the best ever, according to PMTT?spokesperson Duane Landmeier.

Outdoor women set hike in Star Lake

The Outdoor Women’s Group will meet Sunday, July 6, to hike the Star Lake Interpretive Trail, located off Highway K northwest of Star Lake near the state forest campground.

The 34th annual Spring Classic of Champions Muskie Release Tournament sponsored by the Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc. will take place on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes this Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15.

Those still interested in fishing the Spring Classic can register at Hiawatha Lodge this Friday evening, June 13, according to tournament director Scott Samuels. Registration opens at 5:30 on Friday.
