A meeting is set for the Vilas County Highway Committee to discuss community concerns on brushing maintenance and proposed construction plans to Highway K or what also is referred to as Rustic Road 60.

The meeting will take place this Tuesday, May 17, at 9 a.m., at the Vilas County courthouse in Conference Rooms C and D, and will be a joint meeting with the Vilas County Forestry, Recreation and Land Committee.

Rustic Road 60 is a 12-mile stretch of Highway K between Star Lake and Boulder Junction, and is the only "Rustic Road" in Vilas County.

In an effort to have their concerns heard by officials, area residents have started a grassroots campaign called "Save our Rustic Road" and created the website saveourrusticroad.org.
