Partnering with Alley Lanes & Tavern in Land O’ Lakes, the Frosty Snowmobile Club held its first Treasure Quest on Jan. 15.

The fundraiser garnered more than $3,500 to maintain the club’s equipment.

A series of small black treasure chests were hidden around the Frosty Club’s snowmobile trails, and also at local businesses.

A total of 54 participants were issued a treasure map and clues that needed to be solved. The aim at the end of the event at The Alley was to submit photos of the boxes found and clues solved in exchange for a number of keys, some of which had a chance of unlocking the padlock on the treasure chest containing the $500 prize. There were also ways to obtain extra keys.

Winning the $500 cash prize was Clay Alderman, of Springfield, Ill., while one lucky person won the $240 50/50 raffle, donating back $100 to the club. Many participants won door prizes, all donated by supportive local businesses.

A surprise trail party was organized along the way, with food donated by The Bear Trap.

Frosty Snowmobile Club officials thank club volunteers who helped organize the Treasure Quest, as well as the many donors supporting the event.
