The popular Northwoods Blizzard Blast will return to the Conover Town Park Saturday, Feb. 19, for its eighth year.

The event boasts an array of winter activities at the park including ice bowling, slapshot hockey and recliner races.

Also on the schedule are firefighter challenge competitions, archery and snowshoe demonstrations by area enthusiasts. For the children, Chilly Charlie’s Children’s Carnival, pony rides, Dogsled Dash as well as open sledding and ice skating also will be available.

Teams of four can sign up to take part in the giant ski races and browse the Artisan Bazaar which features handcrafted creations in the community center.

Food, hot beverages and drinks will be available for purchase and a large bonfire will be on site to keep attendees warm in between activities.

Proceeds will go to benefit North Woods area fire and emergency medical services (EMS) departments. The organization has contributed more than $150,000 since the event began in 2014.
