Dance instructor Gloria Anderson is back to teach new steps and line dances at Land O’ Lakes Arts (LOLA) this summer. 

Two beginners classes will be held every Tuesday, May 14 through Sept. 10. Level I: Absolute Beginner will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and Level II: Beginner will be 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. 

Each class costs $5, payable at the door, or participants can take both classes for $7. Classes are held in the Ely Memorial Church basement, located at 4302 Highway B. No registration is needed.

Improver classes will be held every Thursday, May 16 through Sept. 12, from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. Improver dancers must have completed levels one and two. Each class costs $7, payable at the door. Improver classes will be held at the Gateway Lodge, located at 4103 Highway B.

The Reader’s Theatre cast will offer a free performance of “Snippets from the Life in this World” Friday, June 7, at 6 p.m. The cast is made up of visitors and residents of the North Woods who share their original stories, poems and snippets from life. 

This presentation is led by Reader’s Theatre Director and LOLA Board Member, Cindy Pesek. 

“These original stories will make you laugh and cry. It will be a great time,” said Pesek. The performance is held at Ely Memorial Church and is suitable for all ages.
