All death notices that appear in this newspaper are edited for consistency by assistant editors of the Vilas County News-Review.

Death notices written in the paper's standard format will be printed at no charge. Only factual information will be used and the list of surviving relatives will be limited to: spouse, children and siblings, and the number of grandchildren.

Unedited obituaries can be printed for a fee. Payment must be received before publication.

All obituaries can include a photo. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces also will receive a flag.

The Vilas County News-Review requires verification of death. Obituaries should be submitted through a funeral home, or must include the name and phone number of the funeral home that is serving the family, or a copy of the death certificate.

Obituary information may be submitted to Specify preference for a free or paid obituary and include contact information. Free obituaries might not be published if the deceased has no connection to the North Woods area.

The deadline for submissions is Mondays by 10 a.m. for that Wednesday's publication.
