The end of the season came in a hurry for the Three Lakes/Phelps Bluejays football team who unfortunately ran into an offensive juggernaut in the form of the Greenwood Indians this past Friday.

In a game played at Three Lakes, the top-seeded Bluejays were out-matched offensively as the visiting Greenwood team ran up a total of 449 yards of total offense as they ran away with a 60-12 playoff win.

Greenwood wasted little time in the first quarter as with 10:15 showing on the clock, Cooper Bredlau scampered in from 20 yards away to put the Indians in front 6-0. The conversion was good from Sully Whitford to make it 8-0 early on.

After Three Lakes/Phelps stalled out on their drive to follow, the Indians made short work of their second possession, scoring this time from three yards away as Xander Hinker carried it in to make it 14-0.

Bredlau then was nearly unstoppable as he would run in from six yards out to make it 20-0, and then hook-up with receiver Westen Schmitz for an 80-yard scoring play to make it 26-0. The conversion from Bredlau was good to make it 28-0 with still 3:45 to go in the first quarter.

Whitford would score his second of the game with 2:02 to play in the first on a 47-yard scoring run to make it 36-0.

Three Lakes/Phelps was then able to get on the board as Jared Kaufman found his brother David Kaufman streaking down the center of the field, hitting him in stride from 56-yards away to make it 36-0 at the end of the first.

Greenwood would get two more scores before the halftime break as the game went into run-time with the score 52-6.

Whitford scored in the third quarter for Greenwood with a five-yard plunge to make it 60-6.

Three Lakes/Phelps would get their second score in the fourth with 3:25 to play as Jared Kaufman scored on a 94-yard carry to make it 60-12.

Statistics for Three Lakes/Phelps were not available as of press time.

For Greenwood, they were led by Bredlau who was 4-of-6 through the air for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 15 times for 114 yards and two scores. Whitford totalled 102 yards on 11 carries, three of those went for touchdowns.

The Bluejays finished the year with a record of 5-3 overall, 4-2 in conference play behind Laona/Wabeno (4-1).
