“Our Town: The Live Radio Play” will be performed at Northland Pines High School auditorium this Saturday, May 27, with a 7 p.m. curtain.

General admission tickets are on sale at Eagle River Roasters. Adult tickets are $10, and students high school age and younger are $5. Tickets will be available at the door for the Thornton Wilder play.

Two families in the imaginary town of Grover’s Corners, N.H., along with other townspeople, move through their daily lives and show the audience how extraordinary life really is, according to director Bernie Hupperts.

“The 35 actors perform commonplace daily activities with a sense of humor, unaware of time passing as they move from love and marriage into the final scene we all face,” said Hupperts.

“Grover’s Corner, with its major character the stage manager, could be Eagle River, Three Lakes, St. Germain, Conover or Land O’ Lakes from 1904-’11,” said Hupperts.

The live radio play will be preceded by a brief choral presentation of songs from the same time period.

Local actors from throughout the area make up the Northwoods Community Players, which will be presenting “Our Town.” The players perform with the financial support of Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts.
