Lake of the Torches Resort Casino in Lac du Flambeau recently presented four North Woods charities with a total of $9,600.

The funds were raised during the June 14 Queen Nation tribute concert held at the premier northern Wisconsin resort casino.

The Lakeland Pantry, the Wisconsin North Central Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Northwoods United Way and the Lac du Flambeau Youth (Abinoojiiyang) Center will receive $2,400 each to bolster their programs that brighten the lives of northern Wisconsin residents. Many of these programs help less fortunate members of the North Woods community with food, clothing and emergency shelter when needed.

Queen Nation is a renowned live production of the legendary band’s greatest hits and captures Queen’s image, sound and stage presence, including the aura of its iconic lead singer, Freddie Mercury. The tribute act performed all of Queen’s greatest hits in a sensational show that brought the audience to its feet.

“We thank everyone who enjoyed the incredible performance and made this generous donation possible,” said Lake of the Torches Director of Marketing Leana Schlecht. “These charities and their volunteers play such an important role in ensuring that basics needs of members of the North Woods community are met.”
