Due to the Stafer at Home order issued last week by Gov. Tony Evers, Northwoods Share’s annual Easter Dinner, planned for Tuesday, April 7, is canceled, as is the April 21 dinner.

In lieu of the usual community dinner, Eagle Waters has offered to prepare boxed dinners for guests instead. Northwoods Share Needs Ministry will distribute 125 meals on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday, April 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. Those who are unable to pick up the dinner can call Sharon at (715) 617-3268 to put their name on a list in case any meals are left over.

According to a notice issued by community dinner organizers, Northwoods Share will follow Evers’ guidance as they move forward, but community members should watch Northwoods Share’s Facebook page for the most current information.

Ripco Credit Union sponsored the March 17 community dinner which also was canceled. However, community dinner organizers and Ripco Credit Union instead will use those funds to help relieve community needs. Northwoods Share passed this donation on to Prince of Peace’s Backpack Program, which provides weekend food for schoolchildren.

Needs Ministry

Currently, the Needs Ministry continues to be open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a limited basis. Workers will distribute soaps, paper products and personal care items. Following Evers’ order, only a few guests are allowed in at one time and both shoppers and volunteers are to use hand sanitizer and respect social distancing.

The ministry is not able to receive any clothing donations until further notice.

For more information, contact the Needs Ministry at northwoodsshare@gmail.com or on Facebook Messenger. Monetary donations are always appreciated. Checks should be made out to Northwoods Share and sent to Northwoods Share, P.O. Box 1162, Eagle River, WI 54521.
