Trees For Tomorrow Environmental Education Center in Eagle River has announced the scheduling of two December programs.

Tuesday, Dec. 7, Trees for Tomorrow’s Sustainable Living Institute will hold “Intro to Private Land Management” from 6-8 p.m.

This program is geared toward helping land-owners make decisions and implement plans to use their forest to better suit their needs. Participants will learn what incentive programs are available, how to access cost-share programs, and how to get funding to implement sustainable forestry practices on their land. Other topics covered will help land-owners to cooperate with a forester to gear specific management plans for timber harvest and wildlife habitat, and how to implement these practices on their property.

Trees for Tomorrow will host a New Year’s Eve candlelight hike on its historic forest campus on Friday, Dec. 31, from 6-9 p.m.

This will be a self-guided candlelight hike on the forest trail. Snowshoes will be optional on the packed down candle-lit trail. There will also be hot chocolate and snacks by the bonfire. Register online or show up the evening of the event. Children age five and under participate for free.

Trees for Tomorrow is located at 519 E. Sheridan St. in Eagle River. For more information, call (715) 479-6456 or visit treesfortomorrow.com.
