A 49-year-old Sayner man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 155 in the town of St. Germain early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Scott Weber was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the accident near the intersection of Highway 155 and Sixteen Road at 1:13 a.m. 

According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 155 when it crossed into the southbound lane and went into the ditch line, striking a tree.

No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and the Vilas County Coroner’s Office.

St. Germain Fire and Ambulance, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission wardens and the medical examiner responded to the accident.
