Benjamin P. Ryskiewicz of St. Germain died Monday, Sept. 16, at his residence with his family by his side. He was 79.

Mr. Ryskiewicz was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Mosinee to Benjamin and Mary (née Pryga) Ryskiewicz.

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Adams Dec. 23, 1963, in Pine City, Minn.

Mr. Ryskiewicz served in the U.S. Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator for years for various construction companies and Winger’s Concrete in Hazelhurst. He was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Ryskiewicz was preceded in death by his wife; and seven siblings, Johnny Ryskiewicz,  Sister Mary Genevieve, Eugene Ryskiewicz, Frances Swientek, Lottie Springer, Ester Zogata and Edmund Ryskiewicz.

He is survived by three children, Jerry Scheel, Paula (Neal) Lewitzke and Lori (Juan) Roman; two brothers, Jerry (Jean) Adams and George (Betty) Adams; one sister, Angeline (Bill) Maliszewski; four grandchildren; and other relatives.

Upon his wishes, cremation took place and private family services will be held.
