Bonnie Jean Price was born July 16, 1927, in Forrest, Ill., to Elmer and Vivian (née Beagle) Virkler.

She was the oldest daughter of the five Virkler children (Jack, Perry, Jim and Brenda).

She was married to Bernard Price, who preceded her in death.

Bonnie is survived by her sister, Brenda Virkler; eight nieces and nephews, Greg (Karen) Virkler, Eric Virkler, Mark (Megan) Virkler, Pam (Bob) Sinnett, Linda (Jerry) Fender, Lori Stadeli, Janelle Juneau, and Jenny Christiansen; 25 great-nieces and -nephews; and 17 great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of Forrest High School in Forrest. She was a pianist and clarinet player in the school orchestra and band. She was also a member of the Glee Club.

In 1958, Bonnie requested a transfer to the General Electric offices in Milwaukee, Wis. After arriving in Milwaukee, she met and married Bernard Price.

In 1972, Bonnie and Bernard moved to their lake home on Black Oak Lake near Land O’ Lakes, Wis., where they resided for 28 years.

Bonnie was a member of the Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club for 40 years.

In 2000, Bonnie and her husband moved to Eagle River. After Bernard passed away, Bonnie remained in her home for the next 18 years. She was a member of the Eagle River Baptist Church and was immersed in baptism at the age of 89.

In February of 2021, Bonnie moved to Union, Mo., where she lived with her nephew, Greg, and his wife, Karen. They lovingly took care of her during her last days. Bonnie was very happy to be able to be close to family. She was at home, surrounded by loved ones as she passed from this life on Dec. 12, 2021. Bonnie touched the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be missed by all.

Visitation for 94-year-old Bonnie Price was held Dec. 18 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union.

Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Land O’ Lakes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christian Missionary Fellowship International (c/o Janelle Juneau).
