Cynthia Hunter of Rhine­lander died Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was 88.

She was born in Racine to Harry and Frieda Dudek. 

In her youth, the family visited the North Woods area for vacations often and eventually purchased land and built a cabin on Tambling Lake near Eagle River. 

In the mid 1980s, Ms. Hunter moved to Eagle River permanently from the Cincinnati, Ohio, area. 

She worked at Wall Street Pharmacy prior to opening her ladies clothing store, Someone Special. After closing her shop, she then worked for the Commission on Aging in Vilas County. 

After her retirement, she remained actively involved in many community projects. She moved to the Rhinelander area 10 years ago. 

Ms. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents.
