Donald Harry Oberg, aged 89, lifelong resident of Phelps, Wis., left this earth to meet with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 2, 2021. He died in Marshfield, Wis.

He is survived by his brother, Lawrence (Connie) Oberg of Yuma, AZ; wife, Margaret Oberg of Phelps.

He is also survived by daughters, Marie Oberg of Onalaska, Wis.; Teresa (Randy) Malcore of Greenville, Wis.; Wanda (Jerry dec’d) Booth of Seattle, Wash.; Sonia (Joseph) Kichefski of Volant, Pa.; Amy Jo (Daniel) Pavick of Weyerhaeuser, Wis., and Linda (Thomas) Wysocki of Onalaska, Wis., along with 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, all of whom he was very proud.

Donald served his country as a radio operator in the Korean conflict. He worked for 38 years at Sylvan Products in Phelps, as well as tending to the Twin Lakes and Long on Deerskin Dams for the Wisconsin Valley Improvement Co. from 1973 through 2020, for which a bench was dedicated to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Laura Oberg; sister, Margaret Oberg of Phelps; sister, Shirley Boehme of Eagle River, Wis.; brother, Robert Oberg of Eagle River; brother, Russell Oberg of Chicago, Ill.

Donald’s love of God was evidenced by his life. His easygoing, jovial nature endeared him to many. He enjoyed nature and taught his children and grandchildren to appreciate it also. He was so loved and will be so missed!!

Funeral services will be held at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, on Saturday, Nov. 13, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m..

Because of health concerns, we will not be hosting a reception following the service.
