After a brave courageous fight with cancer, Edward S. Mayack passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Marshfield Medical Center at the age of 69.

Edward was born in Rhine­lander, Wis., on June 30, 1950, to parents Andrew and Estelle Mayack.

He grew up in Eagle River, Wis., alongside his two brothers, Alan and John. 

Ed attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and Eagle River Union High School.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1969, and was stationed at Fort Huachuca located in Sierra Vista, Ariz., in 1970. There he was a company clerk for the airfield, air traffic controller, and in communications. He was honorably discharged after a term of two years of service

He had worked for Trees For Tomorrow and started out in the local foodservice distributing profession shortly after. He was a dedicated staff member at Sysco for a longevity of 26 years from the spring of 1984 to the fall of 2010. He met a lot of wonderful co-workers and several amazing people throughout his years employed at Sysco.

Ed married the love of his life, Victoria Mayack (Ballard) in July of 1985, and the two had remained settled in Eagle River.

Ed was a people-person who enjoyed boating, camping, living on the lake, nature, playing guitar (old country western music was one of his favorite genres), socializing, spending time with his family, his fur babies, traveling and working on his home.                 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Estelle Mayack; wife, Victoria Mayack; and sister-in-law, Tami (Alan) Mayack.

Edward is survived by his brother, Alan Mayack; brother, John Mayack; niece, Heather (Joseph) Ehrlich; grandnieces, Andrea Bauer and Aubrey Ehrlich; and grandnephews, Masson Bau­er and Jordan Ehrlich.

His genuine personality, great conversation holder, kindness, and laugh to remember will be dearly missed by many.

A memorial service will be at noon on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church located in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.   Burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Eagle River.
